Fearne Cotton announces split from husband Jesse Wood after 10 years together

Fearne Cotton has confirmed she has separated from her husband of 10 years Jesse Wood.

On Friday (December 13), the BBC Radio 2 presenter took to her Instagram Story to confirm the sad news with her 3.9million followers online.

She captioned the post: “It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that Jesse and I are ending out marriage. Our priority has been, and always will be, our children. We please ask that you respect the privacy of our family at this time.”

Fearne and Jesse, who is the son of Rolling Stones legend Ronnie, tied the knot in 2014. The pair welcomed two children together, Rex and Honey. Jesse is also a dad to two older children, Arthur and Lola, from a previous relationship.

Their wedding was an intimate but star studded affair attend by the the likes of Denise van Outen, Holly Willoughby, McBusted and Keith Lemon as well as Jesse’s famous dad. Following the ceremony Holly admitted on This Morning she couldn’t stop crying at the wedding because the bride looked so beautiful.

Just five months ago, in July this year, the couple marked their tenth anniversary by donning their wedding day outfits again.

Fearne, 43, who presents a podcast called The Happy Place podcaster, 42, and musician Jesse, 48, shared a sweet image which showed them messing around in their garden wearing the sentimental outfits.

Their sweet gesture mimicked what the Beckham’s did to mark the their quarter of a century anniversary and Fearne acknowledged this in her caption.

“If it’s good enough for the Beckhams. It’s our wedding anniversary too. 10 years today. And we are back in our wedding outfits (not purple) and @jessejameswood can’t locate the shoes.’

The news of the split comes less than a fortnight after Fearne announced she was having surgery on two tumours on her jaw.

Taking to Instagram the 43-year-old TV and radio presenter aid she will be “out of action” as she underwent surgery: “Hey gang I’m going to be out of action for a bit due to a surgery. I felt a lump under my ear on my jawline a while ago now but this year noticed it was growing.

“Turns out it’s a benign tumour and another small one above it on the saliva gland. I’m feeling positive about it all and will take the opportunity to rest and slow right down.

“If you feel a lump or bump or feel like something is a bit off, always go get it checked. I’m so glad I did as the longer you leave these things the more complicated things become,” she wrote.

Following her surgery she reassured her followers: “Operation went really well. Recovering and resting. Thanks so much for all the kind messages.”
