‘I’d prefer to be at school’ – the long wait for SEND support

Schools and local education authorities across England say they’re struggling to cope with the rising numbers of children with special educational needs and disabilities.
While parents say the system meant to support them is completely broken. It’s led more people to ask for an education health care plan; a legally binding document that councils must adhere to.
Yet an exclusive survey of 2,000 parents shows fewer than 1 in 10 think their child’s needs are being met by special educational needs support.
